Shandon Sutherland is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He has hopes to become an athletic director for a high school or a college, so he is majoring in the exercise program at UWS.
Sutherland spends most of his time on campus at the Marchovich Wellness Center, where he manages intramural sports and participates on teams. However, there are many other aspects to Sutherland’s life than work and school. Sutherland is all about “having a good time.” This can include anything from jamming to 80’s music, skiing during the frigid Midwest winters, or grilling on a warm summer evening.
Sutherland is also thankful to have his family and friends by his side, especially his canine companion, Shamrock. A small but mighty Yorkie dog, Shamrock has a big place in Sutherland’s heart. Another important factor in Sutherland’s life is his indigenous roots to the Native American Ojibwe Tribe. Each summer, he attends the Mille Lacs Band Powwow with his family, Sutherland participating as a grass dancer.
