A statement from the University of Wisconsin System was released on Wednesday, Feb. 16 about removing masking requirements at all University of Wisconsin System campuses.
The email, which was sent out to students and staff, highlighted Wisconsin’s coronavirus decline compared to the rest of the nation.
University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) Chancellor Dr. Renee Watcher made a further statement on Feb. 21 stating that UWS will be lifting the mask mandate on Mar. 12 in coordination with Douglas County Public Health and the UW System.
Systemwide University of Wisconsin System President Tommy Thompson currently intends to remove mask mandates as early as Mar. 1 and as late as spring break.
