Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers visited the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Sep.16 at 2 p.m. His visit came with his Back-to-School campaign, where he traveled to several different K-12 schools and UW campuses across the state to meet with students, educators, and staff and discuss recent changes.
At UW-Superior, Gov. Evers visited three different classes; Managerial Accounting, Advanced Principals of GIS, and Algebra-Based Physics 1. He spoke with students about what they were learning, what their plans were after college, and why they chose UW-Superior.

Gov. Evers recently secured a $250 million investment for schools in the UW System. The money will go to stabilize schools statewide after recent campus closures, provide students access to 24/7 telehealth, and give faculty and staff higher wages. While he admits that the amount is not as much as it sounds after being distributed to all the colleges, the budget increase is a step in the right direction to continue to support schools and students in the UW System.
At the press conference at the end of his visit to UW-Superior, Gov. Evers said, “It’s a really interesting campus, a lot of good things going on.”
