On Thursday, November 9th, the Jim Dan Hill Library hosted a pop-up library table at the Yellowjacket Union, interacting with students and spreading the word of Veterans Day.
The YU was full of pride for our country. The library was also looking at, not only checking out books to students but also raising the awareness of how important Veterans Day is, as well as informing students about why we celebrate this important holiday.

The exhibit is viewable on the 2nd floor of the JDHL.

Jade Jensen, who was there at the YU tabling for the library, said that she talked to about 70 students, and was able to spread the importance of this holiday.
The Jim Dan Hill library now has many different resources for those interested in joining a branch, those who are interested in learning about the different branches of the U.S. military, or maybe if they have family members or loved ones in the service and just want to learn more of what that loved one does.
During an interview, Jensen stated, “The library is a great place to educate people who are interested in joining a branch, and for those who have family or friends in the service”.
Because the library has so many great resources for so many different kinds of people especially involving Veterans Day, you might be curious as to how students could get their hands on those resources.
“If students come to the library and need any help, the front desk is a great place to get guidance on great books. We have great resources, and since we are connected to the UW Systems, we can contact other UW campuses and have them ship books that we don’t have to us,” said Jensen.
The number of things to learn about Veterans Day is a list that simply never ends. So, make sure to check out the Jim Dan Hill Library 7:45 am – 10 pm Monday through Thursday, 7:45 am – 4:30 pm on Friday, or 5 pm to 10 pm on Sundays.
