The University of Wisconsin-Superior geared up for a fantastic year, as faculty and student workers helped incoming students during Weekend of Welcome (WoW). The first day, Sept. 1, 2019, began with student move-in. Each residence hall, Crownhart, Curran-McNeill and Ostrander, and Ross and Hawkes, was open and ready for move-in.

Afterward, the Lloyd Williams Scholarship BBQ served burgers and hotdogs (with vegetarian options!) to students, families, and staff.
The lunch is an annual event, put on in honor of Lloyd Williams. He was a maintenance worker in the residence halls for many years, and had many ideas and visions for improving the halls for students. A scholarship was created in his memory and is awarded to a residence hall student annually. This year, the lunch was free, with a donation bin available.

WoW continued with more fun and informative events through Sept. 3, including the Playfair, Block Party, ‘Jacket Smash, educational sessions, and a hypnotist performance!
