Marvel’s favorite family is back. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” starring Chris Pratt (Peter Quill), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Dave Bautista (Drax), Vin Diesel (Groot), and Pom Klementieff (Mantis), follows the Guardians as they try to save their furry friend Rocket after he is severely injured in a fight. This causes them to clash with a very dangerous person from Rocket’s secret past life The High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji).

In what is likely his final Marvel project Guardians director James Gunn manages to make you laugh while also tugging at your heartstrings. Pratt and Klementieff stepped back into their respective roles flawlessly and are the two performances that stood out to me most.

Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary is who stole the show as he is able to portray the first Marvel Villain that I actively despise with every bone in my body. (In a good way)

Overall the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” was able to capture the magic that made everyone fall in love with the past two movies of the trilogy and is a great addition to the MCU while also breathing a breath of fresh air into what has been a lackluster Phase 4 of the MCU.

The film is also a perfect sendoff for the many characters we have grown to love over the past decade and does a solid job introducing new characters who will most likely appear in future MCU projects.

Final Score: 8.4/10 P.S. I am Groot
