With my time at The Promethean and UWS coming to an end I just wanted to reflect on a few things and give my thanks to this wonderful area.
First, I want to thank the wonderful community of Superior for welcoming me with open arms. When I first moved here, I didn’t know anyone, and this community quickly accepted me making my time here a lot easier. I would also like to thank everyone here at the Promethean.
At first, I was hesitant to join as I tend to be a very shy person who keeps to himself, but this year spent in the organization has opened the doors to new opportunities that wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for this newspaper including a future job in news reporting after graduation.
My time spent at the Promethean has also unlocked a passion for news writing and reporting that I wouldn’t have unlocked if I didn’t step out of my comfort zone and join this organization.
A special thank you to Tom Hansen for the constant encouragement to join the club because this wouldn’t have been possible without him, and for also taking the time to not only teach me but everyone in the organization about the ins and outs of the media business.
Finally, I would like to encourage anyone thinking about a potential career in reporting, writing, and media to join this wonderful organization. I know that I regret not joining sooner.
While I’m disappointed that my time at the Promethean will be coming to an end, I am excited to be able to pass it on to the next group of reporters and writers and know that the organization is in great hands.
Thank you UWS, you have been a great place to call home over the past 4 years and I am forever grateful, and proud to call this school my alma mater.
