At University of Wisconsin-Superior there are a lot of different resources for many different things. One resource that offers help is Career Services.

According to the Career Services website, their goal is to provide students, alumni, faculty, staff and employers with opportunities and resources to identify career goals and develop life-long career management skills.

Career Services is a service that students can use for several different things such as interview preparations, mock interviews, application materials review, a free career closet to access, and more.

Olivia Harding is an employee at Career Services and suggests visiting as soon as you can. “The benefits of Career Services are what you make of it. The earlier you visit the office, the more benefit you will have due to most students visiting us when they are applying somewhere. Having lots of time for feedback is important, but we understand it’s not always possible,” said Harding.

Sophomore, Brenna Mattson visited Career Services and found it very useful, especially the career closet. “The career closet is a very helpful resource to have access to professional clothing that some wouldn’t think to bring to college,” said Mattson.

Employees at Career Services are there to help and enjoy doing it. “My favorite part of Career Services is helping students find and highlight their skills through the experiences they have had in their time at UWS. Oftentimes the application process is so stressful but helping them become more comfortable with the process makes them able to chase their dreams with less barriers,” said Harding.

Career Services is a very useful resource open to all students and can help in many ways. More information can be found on Career Services if you go to the UWS webpage and search “Career Services”.

Career Services is open Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., you can also make an appointment online.
