Kennedy Robelia is graduating this semester from the Visual Arts department with a concentration in Art Therapy. Until the end of the semester, the Project Gallery welcomes anyone to view her new artwork.
Robelia’s gallery features ten original works ranging from pastels, graphite, colored pencils, ink, and digital artworks.
Robelia’s works comment on stress, and pressure felt upon growing up and getting to know yourself.
“Pressure” is all about the weight students feel to earn good grades. The mixed-media enforces the overwhelming feeling that Robelia aimed to achieve.
Another powerful piece in Robelia’s capstone is “The Problem with Gaining Weight.” This work vibrantly uses pastels to depict how body image weighs someone down.
“My drawings are meant to help people know that they are not alone; that there are others in the world who understand those feelings,” said Robelia.
Robelia’s capstone exhibit is on display from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in Holden 2123 until the end of the semester.
