A person was shot on Tuesday in Duluth’s central hillside neighborhood. The police were called to investigate a domestic disturbance to find that one person had been shot. The victim, whos name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

“They brought out the k-9 units to scout the neighborhood and had about 20 squad cars on site,” said neighbor Corey Cusik. “I saw someone get taken off in handcuffs too relatively early in their search.”

Police released the statement Tuesday afternoon on social media: “On Tuesday, February 14th, 2017 at around 2:00 p.m., Duluth Police responded to the area of the 500 block of East 11th Street on a report of a shooting incident. Police arrived and determined the shooting occurred inside a residence. Police found a 22 year old male who was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police have detained several individuals, are conducting interviews and have identified a possible motive.”

This incident is the sixth time since January 21 that there has been a shooting in Duluth. This is the first of these shootings that has resulted in a death.
