Across the UW-Superior campus there are multiple dual sport athletes who represent the Yellowjackets. However, there is one athlete who competes in three different sports across three different seasons.
Colleen Claude is that athlete and she plays volleyball, basketball and runs track and field. The junior from Centuria, WI grew up playing multiple sports and although homeschooled played her high school athletics at Unity High School.

Initially she was recruited to UWS to join the volleyball and track and field teams but joined the women’s basketball team for the 2023-24 season. With a heavy schedule across multiple sports Claude doesn’t find much stress in her work load.
“Each of my coaches are very good at reminding me that when it’s volleyball season it’s time to focus on volleyball, and so on. That gives me the ability to just focus on one sport at a time and once that sports season has finished, I shift my focus to the next sport,” said Claude.
Across all of the sports Claude has played she has been across many different history making moments including the volleyball team’s win against Northwestern this season which snapped the Eagles 73 match winning streak which dated all the way back to 2019.
Claude was also part of the women’s track and field team that captured their first UMAC indoor championship back in 2023.
For Claude the memories that come with athletics offer her growth for the future. “I enjoy all my sports for different reasons. Each team and sport come with different people, a new atmosphere, new challenges, and more room for growth both personally and athletically,” said Claude.
You can catch Claude’s teams throughout the school year with the most basketball and track and field yet to be played.
