The University of Wisconsin-Superior and Yellowjacket Athletics have announced that, following a national search, CeeJay Schaffner has been named the men’s and women’s tennis coach. Schaffner takes over the Yellowjacket program after the October resignation of Kolin Dean.

“We are excited to welcome CeeJay to the university and our athletics department. He comes in with a strong track record of coaching and recruiting with a successful program and those qualities will benefit our tennis programs and student-athletes,” UW-Superior Athletics Director Nick Bursik said. “We think he is great fit for our department and will help us continue to build our culture of developing champions.”

Schaffner comes to UW-Superior from North Central College in Naperville, Ill. where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the men’s and women’s tennis programs. The Cardinals’ record while Schaffner was on staff was 42-16.

“I would like to thank athletics director Nick Bursik and his department for giving me this opportunity. I’m truly grateful to join the UW-Superior family,” Schaffner said. “After coaching and living around the Midwest the past few years, I am eager to be back in Wisconsin. I’m excited to get started and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two programs.”
