Looking for entertainment that will keep you engaged? For just one week, the University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Theatre Department will give you the chance to see 30 plays within the timeframe of 60 minutes. Greg Allen’s production of “Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind,” directed by UW-Superior assistant professor of theatre, Sean Naughton, kept audiences on the edge of their seat.

“Each 2 minutes play is performed in random order and includes an interactive audience. An onstage 60-minute timer keeps everyone honest. This collection of comics, tragic, political, personal, and abstract plays give actors the chance to program a unique evening of 30 Neo-Futurist plays to reflect the lives and experiences of our own world,” said Naughton in a UW-Superior News release.

During its four-day production, the black box was packed with an audience waiting to see the new experimce. Each night, the audience was treated to a new experience as the actors tried to beat the clock each night.

Andy Hill, who was part of the ensemble for “Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind,” says that he is looking forward to the free-flowing production. “Every night we’ve practiced because of the design of the show where it’s a bunch of different numbers that get called out in random order. It’s kind of a new experience every night and managing energy, keeping flow up,” said Hill.

Performances took place at the Experimental Theatre Lab at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, 18, 19, and at 2 p.m. Oct. 20.
