SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-Superior men’s soccer team received goals from six different players on its way to an 8-0 victory over North Central at Elliot Park Field on Saturday.

The Yellowjackets scored three times in the first half and added five more in the second to improve to 7-6-0 overall and 7-1-0 in the UMAC. Sophomore Alex Hanson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) and senior Blake Perry (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) each scored two goals on the day after Hanson notched his first career tally in Friday’s win at Northwestern. Freshman Josh Bellamy (High Wycombe, England/FAB Football Academy) got the scoring going in third minute on one of Scott Wilson’s (Ladybank, Scotland/Bell Baxter) three assists in the match. Hanson’s first tally came in the 24th minute to make it 2-0 before he scored 20 minutes later, assisted by his brother Blake Hanson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior), just prior to halftime.

Perry scored in the 49th and 60th minutes, sandwiching a Phillip Eriksen (Skjetten, Norway/Lorenskog) marker in the 56th, that made it 5-0.

Perry scored his eighth of the season in the 61st minute, while freshmen Mackie Ringrose (Ewhurst, England/St Peter’s Catholic School) and Zach Tiemeyer (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) picked up their first collegiate goals in the 65th and 89th minutes, respectively, for the final margin.

UWS outshot North Central (4-6-0, 2-5-0 UMAC), 34-3, including 23-2 on frame. Freshman goalkeeper Alex Paredes (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) earned the victory in the Superior net, moving to 7-4-0 on the season.
