The Yellowjacket Volleyball team lost three straight sets to Bethany Lutheran College on Oct. 22 in Mankato, Minn.  This conference loss denied them a spot in the UMAC Playoffs.

The first set against Bethany Lutheran was competitive.  Both teams were playing hard and it was back and forth until the end.  Unfortunately Bethany Lutheran pulled ahead at the end to take the first set 25-22.  Though it was even sided in the first set, the Jackets struggled to find momentum in the last two of the three sets.

The ladies failed to get things together in the second set as Bethany Lutheran kept the upper hand for the majority of the set and eventually won it 25-15.  The Vikings were displaying a strong offense and an unwillingness to falter.

The third and final set was all about Bethany Lutheran.  They completely overmatched the Jackets and advanced to a 25-11 score.  This was one of the worst sets that the Jackets had played all season.  Their playoff chances were no more.

The Yellowjacket Volleyball Team moved to 2-5 in conference play and 7- 22 overall on the season.  Their final match-up is scheduled for Sat, Oct. 29 against North Central College at the Merz-Mortorelli Gymnasium at UWS.  This is the final game of the volleyball season, and it is also the ladies’ senior night.
